Dear Marvelous Light Ministries,

Thank you very much for this course!  I am in school to better myself while I'm in jail.  I'm also sending my request for some of your paper-back booklets for our prayer group here in our unit.  Thank you very much for everything you do for us here! Your friend, Louisiana Prison

Greetings!

I have read your literature before from a fellow inmate, and it is very enlightening to me.  I have a Bible, but it is tearing apart now, and it doesn't contain any cross references in it either.  A fellow inmate told me that it would be possible for you to send me a large-print Bible with cross references in it.  It would make it much easier for me to study the Bible more efficiently.  My goal is to become more intimately acquainted with the Bible to the point of where I can show and prove by Scriptures and verify my testimony to other brothers and sisters, instead of my saying "I know it's in the Bible, but I don't know exactly where in the Bible it is; I have to look for it!"  You know what I mean?  Being incarcerated I have no money in commissary, and I would very much appreciate it if you could send me a Bible as such, just as you did with my friend here.  Thank you very, very much! Florida Prison

Dear HMLM,

Thank you for this lesson.  I would like to continue studying with you.  I have learned a great deal from these lessons.  I can't tell you that I consider myself to be a Seventh-day Adventist, but I do believe we must keep the Sabbath!  And now I do!  I have seen very little that I disagree with, and what I did used to disagree with, my opinions are now changed on most of those. :-)  You know, I guess prison ministry has to be difficult.  Why bother with a bunch of thieves, murderers, rapists, and robbers?  It takes a godly love; a love that goes beyond the love of the world.  It takes following the teachings of Christ!  Thank you for the love of God which I see in your actions.  It may be hard to love the unloveable, but the reward is great.  So said the Lord!  My prayers are with you.  I love you all, and please, please keep up the good work.  I look forward to further studies, and rest assured, I will see you in heaven! In Christ, Texas Prison

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to request, if possible, a large-print Bible.  I have heard from a pastor here that you could or might be able to help me.  I pray that you will answer this prayer request as soon as you can, also any Bible studies and books that you can help me with.  Thank you for your help, and I will pray for your ministries.  In Christ, Wisconsin Prison

Dear Pastor Berwick,

Hello!  I got a letter from a friend who gave me your address and recommended that I write to you.  I'm a young Christian who is in prison here in California.  I've been through a lot in my 24 years with abuse from my family and being a part of the wrong crowd.  A friend and I did a crime and my friend got killed in the crime, I got life for this.  I'm growing from all this and at the same time living in a lot of pain!  I don't have any friends or family in my life, and most of the time I feel like I'm going through life alone.  I keep reaching out to God and anyone else who will be a true friend, who has good in his or her life.  It's hard for me because a lot of people don't want to get close to anyone who is in prison.  So I would like to ask you about a prison package you provide.  Could you please send this package to me?  I would also like anything that will help my walk with God.  May God be with you like I know He is.  From, California Prison

Dear Teacher,

Thank you for grading my paper.  One thing that I've learned from Jesus is humility and a person has to stand for something, or they'll fall for anything!  Eve did, Adam did, but they decided to believe what they wanted, not the light of God's truth - His Word!  Thank you for the material on the Sabbath.  It has really caused a stir in here!  In Christ, Nebraska Prison

Dear Brothers and Sisters of HMLM,

Thank you for the Bible!  I read it as much as I possibly can - I'm talking about ALL THE TIME!  But when I listen to Pastor Berwick's messages on cassette, I'm blessed too.  His insight clears  up so much I've had concerns with.  And now, us brothers who have accepted the Sabbath truth are going to meet Saturday on the yard and listen to his sermons as part of our worship service.  The tapes were such a blessing.  I teach "Come out of her" and "be ye separate" to every man who will keep his ear still for a moment.  These tapes were right on time.  They confirmed all I'd said.  People are hard to accept God's pure unmolested Word!  Please tell Pastor Berwick we are all being blessed by his gift, and should you find it possible, we'd like to receive his monthly sermon tape, or any past tapes you have a supply of.  After hearing the Protestant preachers stumble through "theories", the true Word of God is being accepted even more strongly.  Another brother in here received his Bible, and tears filled his eyes!  What a moment!  He reads Spirit of Prophecy and the Bible all the time also.  He loves Sister White's writings so much.  Thank you for sending him the Bible and other materials.  Thank you so much for everything, and I pray God continues to bless each of you with His endless love.  I praise God for all of you.  In Christ Jesus, Utah Prison

Dear Bible Instructor,

Thank you again for this wonderful study.  I enjoyed doing it.  Also, and most of all, it gives me more wisdom and knowledge and brings me closer in my walk with the Lord.  So I thank you all, and may the Lord continue to bless you all in your blessed work for the Lord.  You are all living vines who really are producing fruit for our wonderful Lord.  Oh, and by the way, if you could, would you please pray for me as I'll be having some more major surgery soon?  Thank you!  God bless you all! Colorado Prison

Dear HMLM,

Praise the Lord!  It is my sincere desire that God is continuing to bless your staff and move you in wonderful ways.  I sincerely appreciate the studies and encouraging words that you send me.  I am learning a great deal about the Word of the Lord.  This letter is to inform you that due to my up-coming transfer, I will be unable to send in the lesson #6 I just received.  All the lessons are helpful and give me a much better insight into God's Word.  I will be continuing them though as soon as I'm settled at my next address.  Before I close, I would like to just share this old proverb with you:

"Look to this day, for it is life, the very life of life.  In its brief course lie all the realities and varieties of existence - the bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the glory of power.  For yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision.  But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.  Look well, therefore, to this day."

May God bless you all! Sincerely, Oklahoma Prison
